How to Care for Your Hand-Dyed Yarn 🧶

Your yarn has been lovingly hand-dyed in small batches, so a little extra care will help keep those colours looking their best.

🫧 Wash gently
All yarn has been prewashed before being sold. Hand wash in cool or lukewarm water with a wool-safe detergent. Avoid hot water and vigorous agitation.

🚿 Rinse carefully
Some colour may continue to release during the first few washes, especially with darker or highly saturated colourways. This is normal for hand-dyed yarn.

👐 No wringing!
Gently squeeze out excess water rather than twisting or wringing. Roll your finished project in a clean towel and press to remove even more moisture.

🌬️ Dry flat
Reshape your project and lay it flat to dry, away from direct sunlight and heat. Hanging wet wool can cause it to stretch out of shape.

☀️ Keep it out of the sun
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause colours to fade over time. Your yarn deserves a little shade.

🎨 A note about hand-dyed colour
Every skein is unique, and slight variations in colour are part of the charm of hand-dyed yarn. If you're using multiple skeins of the same colourway, alternating skeins every few rows can help blend any differences.

Treat it kindly and your yarn should stay colourful, and soft for years to come.
